A man was fatally shot last night during an incident at a Hickory Hollow area apartment complex, prompting a homicide investigation by local detectives. The shooting, which is suspected to have a drug-related motive, occurred inside a vehicle at 300 Hickory Apartments on Hickory Hollow Place, as reported by the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department.
Authorities believe the deceased is a 23-year-old resident of Nashville whose identity is pending confirmation through fingerprint analysis. According to the investigation, the victim and his 24-year-old friend were targeted by gunfire while inside their car at the apartment complex. The friend, who suffered gunshot wounds in the attack, managed to drive to the 1600 block of Antioch Pike, where he solicited help from passersby exiting a local business and subsequently obtained transportation to Southern Hills Medical Center. Unfortunately, the 23-year-old was pronounced dead upon arrival, while the 24-year-old remains in stable condition.
As the injured party receives medical attention, detectives hope to gather more information from him when his condition allows.
