Canine Nash, who has diligently served as both an apprehension dog and certified narcotics detection K-9, is entering retirement after a career spanning several years. According to a WSMV report, Nash has been part of the force since 2017, working alongside Officer Braden Gant.
Nash's responsibilities were significant during his tenure, which included being one of the first K-9 pairs to integrate into the SWAT team—a position, according to Officer Gant, enjoyed by Nash and being his handler's partner and best friend. "Thank you to K-9 Nash for serving the city of Nashville!” MNPD expressed in a Facebook post.
Entertainment for Nash in retirement includes his continued companionship with Officer Gant, as he happily becomes a full-time member of his family. As a remembrance for his years of service, MNPD has commemorated Nash's efforts with a public note of gratitude, appreciating his contribution to the community's safety and well-being. While peaceably retiring, Nash still displays his vigilance, boldly barking at passing vehicles from the comfort of his new forever home.
