A somber air grips Hendersonville as the community learns of a teenage boy, merely 16, from Nashville who was shot and killed. The incident, which unfolded on Vulco Drive, has propelled law enforcement into a fervent search for the suspect believed to be linked to the homicide.

According to the WRKN report, the Hendersonville Police Department was alerted to shots fired in the 100 block of Vulco Drive yesterday. Tragically, upon arrival, they discovered that a homicide had occurred. In connection with the shooting, the HPD has since identified 18-year-old Amani Jordan as a person of interest and has issued a warrant for second-degree homicide. The police are now appealing to the public for any information regarding the whereabouts of Jordan.

The victim, a 16-year-old boy whose ties trace back to Nashville, was initially found following police response to the reported gunfire. The FOX 17 coverage noted that the suspect had fled before officers arrived. Emphasizing the distinctive nature of the incident, authorities have suggested the homicide appears to be an isolated event.

Meanwhile, the neighborhood, unaccustomed to such dramatic police presence, deals with the weight of this tragedy. As per a WSMV interview, a resident known as Hank, who chose to withhold his face due to the suspect still being at large, recounted hearing the gunshot despite being legally blind. "I heard the gunshot even over the football game that I was watching in the room, and I instantly pulled up my blinds and saw a car driving away," he said.

The case marks a grave beginning to the year's criminal investigations for the Hendersonville detectives. Anyone with pertinent information is encouraged to contact the Hendersonville Police Department at 615-822-1111 or Hendersonville Crime Stoppers at 615-594-4113.
