Early Thursday, the Chicago police responded to reports of break-ins at four establishments, spanning across two key locations in the area, as reported by the Chicago Sun-Times. The targeted businesses—a jewelry store, a restaurant, an office, and a fourth unidentified business—suffered considerable damage to their front doors, shaking the sense of security in the community.
According to ABC 7 Chicago, the sequence of burglaries began at about 1:40 a.m. with a pizzeria, swiftly followed by Roberto's Jewelers at 1:45 a.m., and then a chiropractor's office at 1:55 a.m., the spree unfolded along Higgins Avenue near Nordica Avenue, causing disruptions to local operation, leaving proprietors to deal with the aftermath.
The Chicago police report indicated that all incidents involved a silver sedan seen fleeing the scene, carrying five male suspects. In each case, damage was inflicted upon the front door of the businesses, although, confoundingly, nothing appeared to have been taken from the scenes. The fourth business, located on West Irving Park Road, was hit around 3:10 a.m., with a black car implicated in this incident—a detail provided by a witness to the police, as per the Chicago Sun-Times.
