As Thursday approaches, Oklahoma City residents anticipate the mercury to ascend slightly, forecasting a high near 54°F. A south wind blowing at 6 to 9 mph is expected to turn north northwest in the afternoon, according to the NWS report. The weather for this evening, however, projects a mostly clear sky with a low around 33°F and a south wind flowing at a soft pace of 5 to 8 mph.
As we edge further into the week, Friday is forecasted to be sunny with sunny skies peppering the horizon, hitting a high near 48°F. Winds from the north northeast are to be gentle at 5 to 7 mph, transitioning to an east southeast direction later in the day. Looking ahead at the weekend, Saturday’s skies are predicted to fill with clouds as temperatures climb to a near consistent high of 49°F. Sunday introduces a 20 percent chance of showers amidst the cloudy skies, with the temperature reaching a high near 51°F, said the National Weather Service. Sunday evening will see temperatures plunge drastically to a low around 21°F.
Oklahoma City’s weather trajectory for early next week starts with a mostly sunny Monday and a high near 33°F. By Monday night, residents can expect partly cloudy skies with the thermometer settling at a low around 18°F. Tuesday maintains the cool trend, partly sunny and topping out near 32°F, hinting that the teeth of winter still hold a frosty grip upon the city.
