An Orem man, already facing charges for the alleged killing of three individuals and interring them in a desolate tract of Tooele County land, is now confronting an added count of murder. The new charge comes after investigators uncovered another set of human remains in proximity to the previous gravesite. According to KSLTV, the recently discovered skeletal fragments are believed to be linked to a fourth victim.
In December of 2024, law enforcement intensified their probe after an April uncovering of a human rib bone near Mercur Trailhead led them to go on to find a wider scatter of bones, inclusive of a jaw with some teeth still intact. Following the initial discovery by the Utah County Sheriff's Office, they were granted a search warrant to thoroughly scrutinize the area. FOX 13 reports that the investigation resulted in the unearthing of human remains disturbingly strewn across the desolate ground.
This sinister chain of events first unfolded when three individuals, identified as Bustamante-Banuelos, Sepulveda, and Sanchez, were reported missing on March 28, 2022. The link to their disappearance took a gruesome turn when their bodies were discovered in Tooele County, pointing to a deep-seated tale of violence and reprisal. In the inquiry into their vanishing, witnesses intimated to the police that Sepulveda was indebted financially to the tune of $2,400 to the accused, Sevilla-Aleman.
