
A Plantation Police officer was hospitalized following a crash that appears to be connected to a second incident, both incidents occurred yesterday. According to NBC Miami, the series of events began after officers attempted to arrest a suspect with outstanding warrants. The suspect fled in a vehicle, leading to multiple accidents, one of which involved the injured officer at the intersection of Davie Road and State Road 84 in Davie.
Authorities confirmed that the officer was quickly taken to a nearby hospital, though details on their identity and condition have not been disclosed. A second driver involved was also evaluated by fire rescue on the scene. As law enforcement attempted to swiftly capture the fleeing suspect, the chaos ensued shortly after 4:30 p.m., as reported by WSVN. This second accident occurred a few miles away on Peters Road near University Drive, where an SUV was seen overturned, though it was unclear if any injuries resulted from this crash.
The suspect, who has yet to be apprehended, managed to elude officers after causing the accidents. Footage of the area showed the aftermath with emergency services in response.
