In a recent operation to curb drug trafficking in Plymouth, two men were apprehended on Tuesday, with a stash of narcotics following a report of a suspicious idling vehicle. According to the Plymouth Police Department's Facebook post, police officers identified the driver as Melik Harrison and the passenger as Tyre Wade, the latter having tried to dispose of cocaine just as officers arrived.
The law enforcement response escalated quickly as additional personnel arrived at the scene, with bystanders emerging from a nearby residence and causing a disturbance, but police efforts uncovered more drugs in the car and on the suspects, most notably over two dozen grams of cocaine and 13.2 grams of Fentanyl. Harrison was found with multiple bags of crack cocaine and Fentanyl in the rear prisoner compartment, whereas Wade had individually packaged baggies of the same substances subsequent to a K9 search.
Following the traffic stop bust, another police initiative occurred yesterday, as part of an ongoing drug distribution investigation. Officers from the Plymouth Police Narcotics Unit executed two search warrants, targeting Alan Fortes and his property; they arrested him after a planned vehicle stop and found more evidence at his residence. Taken into custody, Fortes was found concealing a sizable amount of crack cocaine, which Plymouth PD's K9 unit detected, as the Plymouth Police Department announcement detailed.
Both encounters resulted in a variety of serious drug charges, including repeated offenses for possession and intent to distribute Class A and B substances and Fentanyl trafficking of more than ten grams, with evidence such as digital scales, additional narcotics, packaging materials, and cell phones, which supported the activity of distribution, reinforcing the gravity of these offenses.
