
Early Tuesday morning, an individual was robbed at gunpoint while using an ATM at a Wells Fargo bank in Opa-locka, sparking a police hunt for the armed suspect. The incident took place at the branch located at 13100 NW 27th Ave, with the victim providing a description of the assailant that led to a search in the vicinity, as reported by Local 10.
Police identified an individual matching the robber's description near an apartment complex on the 2700 block of Ali Baba Avenue shortly after the incident. However, the suspect managed to evade officers, prompting an extended search in the area. The Opa-locka Police Department is working with Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers to gather information from the public. A reward of up to $5,000 is being offered for tips that lead to the suspect’s arrest, with the assurance that tipsters can remain anonymous.
According to WSVN, the police had a brief encounter with the person of interest near a nearby housing structure but were unable to detain him. As the search continues, community members are advised to exercise caution in the area.
