A Putnam County man faces charges for the theft of two trailers, one of which was stolen from a Cookeville church on Christmas Day. The Putnam County Sheriff's Office, as reported by WKRN, successfully recovered both trailers and apprehended the suspect, identified as Christopher Roberts. Surveillance footage showed a blue Nissan Frontier, owned by Roberts, leaving Life Church's parking lot early on December 25 with the church's trailer in tow.

According to FOX 17, authorities located the first stolen trailer at Roberts' cousin's house in the Buck Mountain area, following a tip-off by Roberts after his arrest and further discovered a backpack containing a 9mm firearm during their investigation at Roberts' residence on Oak Circle, which they later confirmed belonged to him, who is indeed a convicted felon, adding another layer to his legal troubles. The firearm posed a serious issue as Roberts was not legally permitted to possess it due to his previous convictions.

The second missing trailer was linked to Roberts in a concerted effort by detectives, as noted in 1025 WOW Country's coverage, culminating in additional charges against him. Last Friday, while Detective Everett aided Detective Harris with an ongoing inquiry, a second stolen trailer was recognized as part of Roberts' illicit repertoire.

Charges against Roberts include two counts of felony theft and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon; his bond has been set at $34,000 with a court date scheduled for February 10. Roberts has not yet made a public statement regarding the accusations.
