Oklahoma’s economic development and workforce initiatives are set to advance with the appointment of Rep. Mark Tedford, R-Jenks, to the Governor’s Council for Workforce and Economic Development. The Oklahoma House of Representatives announcement was made yesterday by House Speaker Kyle Hilbert, R-Bristow, marking a step towards improving job access and aligning educational programs with workforce needs.
Tedford joined the Council on Wednesday last week. The Council works on statewide initiatives aimed at promoting access to in-demand careers, particularly for Oklahomans seeking career advancement.
"I’m grateful to Speaker Hilbert for trusting me with this opportunity," Tedford said in the Oklahoma House of Representatives release. "Workforce and economic development have always been areas I’m passionate about and I’m looking forward to working with stakeholders to find innovative ways to strengthen Oklahoma’s workforce and open doors for career growth across the state."
