Seeking assistance from locals, the Salt Lake City Police Department (SLCPD) is conducting an investigation following a shooting occurrence in the Glendale neighborhood. As reported by SLCPD, the incident which escalated from a verbal altercation to gunfire, unfolded at approximately 3:51 p.m. on January 3 at 1700 South Prospect Street, with SLC911 receiving notice soon after it transpired.
On arrival at the scene, police found a 38-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound, who officers quickly administered lifesaving aid before he was transported by paramedics to a local hospital where he currently remains in serious but stable condition thankfully, his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening, the shooting is regarded as an isolated event at this stage in the inquiry.
While early investigations suggest the altercation involved several individuals, the suspects had vacated the area before the arrival of law enforcement, leaving detectives with scant details on potential perpetrators.
