San Lorenzo Man Charged in Connection with San Francisco Bike Theft OperationSource: San Francisco Police Department

San Lorenzo resident Joseph Zachary Negapatan, 25, faces charges of receiving stolen property after San Francisco District Attorney Brooke Jenkins announced his connection to a bicycle fencing operation. As reported by the SF District Attorney's Office, Negapatan was arraigned and pleaded not guilty yesterday. His next court date is February 19, when he will attend a prehearing conference.

Following a burglary report on January 2 in the Richmond District of San Francisco, where bicycles worth over $25,000 were stolen, the San Francisco Police Department worked alongside the victim to track the stolen goods. Last Monday, the victim spotted their stolen bicycles on an online marketplace and alerted SFPD investigators, who subsequently identified Negapatan as a suspect. After obtaining a warrant, they searched Negapatan's residence, which led to the recovery of the victim's stolen bicycles and additional suspected stolen bikes and parts, according to the San Francisco Police Department.

The case remains open as the investigation continues. The San Francisco Police Department urges anyone with information to come forward and contact them at 415-575-4444 or to text a tip to TIP411, beginning the message with "SFPD".
