Señor Sisig, a beloved purveyor of Filipino American street food, is set to tantalize the taste buds of Golden State Warriors fans with the opening of its new location at Thrive City, just a stone's throw from the Chase Center. According to a recent report from SF Eater, the Bay Area-born brand's fourth brick-and-mortar will open its doors on Tuesday, January 21, in a prime spot to catch the rush of basketball enthusiasts.
The forthcoming Señor Sisig outpost promises to serve their acclaimed sisig and tosilog burritos, tacos, and nachos and potentially introduce innovative specials, capitalizing on its capacious 2,800-square-foot kitchen. In a statement obtained by SF Eater, co-owner Gil Payumo expressed excitement about the new location, saying they are "really focusing on [making this location] the taste of the Bay for us, a little taste of every location and bring it over here." The restaurant wants to educate and impress a diverse clientele with its diverse flavorsome offerings.
The launch of the new Thrive City Señor Sisig will also see the introduction of the sinigang wings, a popular yet location-exclusive dish inspired by the Filipino stew sinigang. These wings are the brainchild of a collaboration with Filipino American rapper P-Lo, made to honor both his heritage and the dish’s beloved tamarind tang. "The inspo is just me being Filipino and just wanting to share my culture with my fans and the people that are the fans of Señor Sisig," P-Lo told SF Eater.
Alongside its culinary offerings, the space has multiple TVs and is scheduled to become a bustling hub for various events. The opening comes when the Thrive City area is set to fully activate as an Entertainment Zone, offering an open-air drinking experience akin to Bourbon Street or Las Vegas. Evan Kidera, co-owner of Señor Sisig, reflected on the full-circle moment, noting to SF Eater the significance of the Warriors and the Mission Bay neighborhood’s development, looking forward to being part of its continuing growth.
For those eager to dive right into the new culinary hotspot, Señor Sisig (151 Warriors Way, Suite #3) will warmly welcome guests starting from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays, as detailed on Chase Center's official website.
