
Last Sunday morning, Springfield police arrested 31-year-old Willie Duke in connection with a series of armed robberies that occurred last Saturday afternoon. Duke is accused of robbing a business on the 100 block of Walnut Street, a convenience store on the 400 block of St. James Avenue, and another business on the 600 block of State Street, according to the Springfield Police Department.
In each incident, the thief used a firearm and stole an undisclosed amount of cash. The Springfield Police, with help from the Real-Time Analysis Center, quickly identified a suspect and linked them to a vehicle, as reported by the Springfield Police Department.
Last Sunday at 7:15 a.m., Springfield Police located and arrested Duke after he fled a traffic stop at a gas station on the 200 block of Hancock Street. He was caught after a brief chase in a wooded area on the 100 block of Ashley Street. Duke faces charges for three armed robberies last Saturday and for fleeing from police, as stated by the Springfield Police Department.
