On Thursday, Springfield police arrested 21-year-old Jeyver Pabon-Flores after a late-night disturbance following a two-vehicle crash on the 400 block of Belmont Avenue. Police seized a stolen firearm during the arrest, according to the Springfield Police Department.
Witnesses saw Pabon-Flores attempting to leave the crash scene, prompting police to intervene. After being instructed to park his car, he exited the vehicle and fled on foot while holding a firearm. Police pursued and apprehended him on Dickinson Street, recovering a loaded firearm with 11 rounds, which had been reported stolen from Vermont, as reported by the Springfield Police Department.
Pabon-Flores from Chicopee faces charges for possessing an illegal firearm, carrying a loaded gun without a license, and having a large capacity firearm. He is also charged with receiving stolen property, driving an unlicensed and unregistered vehicle, and using a false number plate. The investigation is ongoing, with more details to come, as stated by the Springfield Police Department.
