Boston Police arrested 29-year-old Naysaan Austin on Monday, near 1165 Blue Hill Avenue in Dorchester. Austin was wanted on a warrant for assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and serious bodily injury, following a stabbing incident in Mattapan late last year. He is set for arraignment in Dorchester District Court, as reported by the Boston Police Department.
Austin's arrest stemmed from an incident on December 23, 2024, when police responded to a stabbing at 21 Fessenden Street in Mattapan around 10:30 PM. The victim, who had a face laceration, was treated by EMS but declined further medical treatment and hospital transport. Police have not disclosed details of the altercation, according to the Boston Police Department.
A December stabbing in Mattapan has led to calls from residents for increased police presence and community efforts to address rising crime. The Boston Police Department has not provided further details on the incident, but community leaders are expected to work with law enforcement to improve safety in the area.
