An early morning tragedy unfolded in Oceanside as police responded to reports of a fatal shooting at the intersection of College Boulevard and Olive Drive, finding a 35-year-old man deceased from a gunshot wound. Following an intensive investigation led by the Oceanside Police Department, a suspect has been apprehended in connection with the crime, announced first in a press release by the Oceanside Police Department.

Tragedy struck this quiet community when the victim, whose identity was initially withheld, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crime. This occurrence has pressed the Crimes of Violence Unit to seek out the public's help in what has now become a road rage-related murder investigation, according to Hoodline.
Investigators have since linked 51-year-old Pele Fuifui to the fatal incident, resulting in his arrest on Thursday without incident in Placentia. Fuifui, recently paroled in 2019 after serving 23 years for a previous murder in San Diego, now stands charged with the murder of Justin Bazan, aged 34. According to the Oceanside Police, what started as road rage ended in an irrevocable loss of life and has reinitiated Fuifui's contact with the criminal justice system.
