
Worcester Police arrested Maxwell Smith, 24, and Joe Santos-Vazquez, 31, on Monday for a stolen vehicle and drugs. Officers stopped them at 10:25 PM after noticing suspicious movements in the car, according to the Worcester Police Department.
Smith and Santos-Vazquez were arrested after Smith tried to flee from the car. Smith had a large knife and bags of crack cocaine and Fentanyl, indicating drug trafficking. Santos-Vazquez claimed the car belonged to his uncle but provided no further details. A bag of suspected meth was found near Santos-Vazquez’s seat, as stated by the Worcester Police Department.
Smith and Santos-Vazquez are facing charges related to a stolen vehicle. Smith is charged with receiving a stolen car, drug possession with intent to distribute, trafficking drugs, and carrying a weapon. Santos-Vazquez is charged with receiving a stolen vehicle and drug possession. The car's owner got their property back after the incident, as reported by the Worcester Police Department.
