
On Wednesday, police responded to reports of a possible active shooter at 120 Longwater Drive in Norwell. As stated by the Norwell Police Department, officers were dispatched at 1:39 pm after an intercom message about an active shooter. A lockdown was initiated, but employees reported no signs of a threat. A police search confirmed there was no shooter, and the incident was likely caused by an accidental activation of a code silver alert in the building’s system.
Police were called to 104 Longwater Drive at 2:04 pm after reports of "loud bangs." Officers locked down and searched the building but found no threat. Nearby schools were also locked down as a precaution, as reported by the Norwell Police Department.
According to the Norwell Police Department on their Facebook page, there is no threat to public safety following recent incidents, which are still under investigation. Local and state police responded promptly, and employees, along with law enforcement, took actions that ensured safety and prevented panic.
