Good news for drivers in downtown Fort Lauderdale as SE 7th Street has reopened to westbound traffic between SE 5th Avenue and SE 5th Terrace. The closure was due to a 12-inch water main break at 500 SE 7th Street, which required urgent repairs, according to the City of Fort Lauderdale website.
City crews have completed the necessary repairs, and the eastbound lane is expected to reopen once asphalt work is finished this morning. Drivers are advised to use SE 8th Street as a detour until the asphalt restoration is completed.
The City of Fort Lauderdale provided updates and reminded "drivers should follow posted signs and drive with caution in the area."
