The incident took place at 5:44 p.m. on Wednesday on Veteran's Road when Clemens, driving a Ram 1500 truck, crossed the center line and collided with a cruiser. Clemens was checked by EMTs at the scene and did not require hospitalization. The police officer was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, as reported by NBC Boston.
Clemens is facing charges of negligent driving and a marked lanes violation after a collision that damaged both a pickup truck and a police cruiser. The case will be heard in East Boston District Court, as stated by NBC Boston.
