A woman and a young boy were hospitalized Saturday after being struck by an SUV in the parking lot of the Adrenaline Entertainment Center on Lake Worth Road, as per reports by local authorities. CBS12 identified the victims as a 5-year-old boy and a woman.
According to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office, the driver, a 40-year-old woman, failed to yield to the pedestrians as she turned left in the parking lot. The pedestrians were walking within a crosswalk when they were struck by the driver's SUV, which then ran over them, as detailed in a WPBF report. This resulted in serious injuries that required the boy and woman to be airlifted to the hospital.
The incident took place around 3 p.m. outside a trampoline park, a popular spot for birthday parties and family gatherings, particularly on weekends. The victims, Quinn and Alison Park from Lantana, were severely injured when Whitney Bagatta of Lake Worth, driving a Ford SUV, hit them. The child was found under the vehicle, and the adult was either under or near the SUV, both suffering significant injuries, as reported by BocaNewsNow.
Both victims were transported to St. Mary’s Medical Center, where the boy's condition was serious enough to urgently require a TraumaHawk helicopter transport. The adult victim was also airlifted by a second TraumaHawk chopper due to the severity of her injuries.
