
A 14-year-old male juvenile has been charged with the shooting of a 19-year-old woman. According to the Chicago Police Department's official news release, the teenager faces one felony count of aggravated battery with a firearm and two felony counts of criminal damage to property ranging from $500 to $10,000.
The incident, which took place on January 27, 2025, resulted in the injury of a young woman and damage to two vehicles due to gunfire. The arrest occurred a week later, yesterday, on the 3400 block of W. Wabansia, the perpetrator was taken into custody and, subsequently charged. Details about the circumstances of the shooting remain scarce, and while the motive is not yet clear, the impact of such events on community safety and trust cannot be understated.
The alleged offender, whose name is being withheld due to his juvenile status, was identified as one of the individuals who participated in the shooting on the 1600 block of N. Spaulding.
