A 15-year-old boy is in serious condition following a shooting in West Jordan late Wednesday night, as confirmed by local authorities. West Jordan Police Department (WJPD) responded to a 911 call at approximately 11:20 p.m. about gunshots in a neighborhood near 3400 West and 6600 South. Upon their arrival, officers found the teenage victim with a gunshot wound, KUTV reports.
Initially characterized as an apparent drive-by incident by other outlets, police later clarified that the shooting was not a drive-by, though it may still to have involved a vehicle. The teen, whose name has not been released, was transported to the hospital, and his condition is reportedly serious, although specific details about his condition have yet to be disclosed.
