The Chicago Police Department has reported the arrest of a 16-year-old boy in connection to an aggravated robbery that took place in October of the previous year. The juvenile offender, whose identity remains undisclosed due to his age, is facing a felony count for aggravated robbery where he allegedly brandished a firearm to commit the theft.
According to details released by the CPD on their official website, the apprehension occurred on the evening of February 18, 2025, in the vicinity of the 1100 block of S. Hamilton Ave. The arrest follows an incident that transpired four months prior, where a 23-year-old male was the victim of the theft on the 500 block of W. Fulton St in Chicago's 12th District.
The report further indicates that the juvenile was placed into custody after being positively identified as one of the perpetrators involved in the October 22 incident. At the time of the robbery, it is alleged that he and potentially others used the threat of a firearm to forcibly take property from the young man.
The department has yet to release additional details surrounding the case and the ongoing investigation. It remains unclear whether other individuals are being sought in connection with the robbery or if any other charges are forthcoming.
As the legal process takes its course, the juvenile is expected to have representation to navigate the charges laid against him. No court dates have been announced yet.
