
In an unfolding narrative of crime and response within the city's limits, a 19-year-old has found himself on the unwelcome side of the law after a 2024 vehicular hijacking incident. Eric Scott-Williams, hailing from the 6200 block of S. Maplewood Ave in Chicago, Illinois, was apprehended by the Vehicular Hijacking Task Force on February 22, 2025, according to the Chicago Police Department's News release. The young man is now facing one felony count of aggravated vehicular hijacking with a firearm.
The arrest took place at 5:32 p.m., not a stone's throw from his residence, in the 6100 block of S. Maplewood Ave Scott-Williams was pinpointed as the individual who, armed with a firearm, commandeered a vehicle from a 48-year-old woman, this encounter occurred back in January in the 6600 block of S. Winchester Ave., which falls under the watch of the 7th District. He was taken into custody and the charges were placed upon his shoulders, yet the police maintain that no additional information can be shared at this time.
Justice now awaits Scott-Williams at the detention hearing which is set for today, at the establishment of law at 2600 S. California.
