
A tragic vehicular incident occurred in Las Cruces on Thursday afternoon, resulting in the death of a 24-year-old woman. As reported by KFOX-TV, the woman was driving a gold Chevrolet Trailblazer when she failed to heed a stop sign at the intersection of Griggs Avenue and Hermosa Street, leading to a collision with a black Chevrolet Impala.
According to KVIA, the accident occurred at 3:20 PM, at which time the woman's vehicle was struck broadside, rolled over, and consequently ejected her. Officials stated that she was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, sadly, emergency crews found her dead at the scene.
Details from KTSM confirm that after the collision, the SUV rotated before rolling over at least once. The police, who have not yet released the identity of the deceased, are giving the family time to process and notify other relatives. It was also noted by Las Cruces Police that the other driver involved, a 22-year-old woman, sustained no serious injuries in the incident.
