Deseret News reported that the local animal shelter is inviting individuals to partake in "the best blind date ever," by picking up a dog or cat to spend the weekend with, a gesture aimed at bringing joy not just to the individuals, but to entire households as described by Jackie McKay of Best Friends Animal Society.

For those interested, it's as easy as walking in, no prior call or email is necessary, animals ready for their Valentine's weekend can be picked up between 11:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Friday and must be returned on Saturday or Sunday, during this event, Best Friends is providing all necessary supplies for the animals' care, including food, beds, kennels, toys, and leashes as KSL relayed, ensuring a hassle-free overnight foster experience.

Beyond the cuddles and companionship, the initiative also serves a greater purpose. According to ABC4, Best Friends explained that fostering is an "essential part of the lifesaving process," allowing pets to learn that people can be kind and to experience a warm, secure place to sleep; additionally, fostering provides valuable insight into the pets' personalities, aiding the shelter in making better adoption matches.
