An employee altercation at a Boca Raton law firm led to an arrest on Tuesday. As per the Boca News Now report, the incident took place at the Gebeloff Law Firm at 7431 North Federal Highway, involving Melissa Rosen, who attempted to discipline paralegal Nia Hawkes for tardiness, resulting in a physical confrontation.
Rosen allegedly grabbed Hawkes' iPhone as she tried to record the disciplinary action, then threw the phone to the ground, causing it to break and trapping Hawkes' finger in the office door, causing a minor injury. The phone was damaged and no longer functional, according to the police report. When the officer arrived, they found Nia Hawkes visibly upset. She explained that upon arriving at work, her co-worker, Melissa Rosen, began yelling at her about her lateness.
Rosen denied throwing the phone or causing injury to Hawkes. However, the Boca Raton Police charged her with robbery by sudden snatching and felony criminal mischief, according to arrest records reported by the Palm Beach Mugshots. Rosen was later released on a $2000 bond and is awaiting her court date.
