The City of Boca Raton has earned three prestigious awards for its financial management and transparency. These recognitions highlight the city’s strong fiscal practices and transparent governance.
As per the City of Boca Raton release, the city received the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA). This award is based on a rigorous 562-point checklist, which only 4,176 out of 90,887 U.S. government entities have achieved. Boca Raton has maintained this recognition for over 44 years. “This remarkable achievement underscores our ongoing commitment to fiscal responsibility and maintaining the trust of our residents,” said Jim Zervis, the City’s Chief Financial Officer.
The City’s Office of Management & Budget also earned its 42nd consecutive Distinguished Budget Presentation Award from the GFOA. Boca Raton’s budget is praised for its clear presentation of performance measures and goals, ensuring transparency for both policymakers and residents.
Additionally, The City of Boca Raton received the Award of Excellence in Procurement from the Florida Association of Public Procurement Officials (FAPPO). This award recognizes agencies that meet and exceed best practices in procurement, showcasing the city’s efficient and responsible management of taxpayer money.
