Late Friday night, a Cedar Mill home was engulfed in a two-alarm fire that rapidly spread to an adjacent residence, necessitating a swift response from local firefighting units. As reported by KOIN, the incident, occurring just before 10:30 p.m. on Werburgh Lane, prompted Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue crews to act urgently to contain the blaze before it could wreak further havoc.
The fire's intensity required additional firefighters after the situation escalated to a second alarm—crews were dispatched to ensure the neighboring house was unoccupied, during the ordeal, an individual from the initial house sustained a minor injury and received treatment, as confirmed by Tualatin fire, per OregonLive.
Upon arrival, firefighters were met with a harrowing scene; the first house was already in the throes of flames and smoke, and the fire was advancing to the house next door, creating an immediate threat to the structures and occupants. In a challenging twist, firefighters had to resort to ladders to access the upper level from the outside after the stairs inside the home had burned through, as KPTV reported.
