
On February 5, 2025, Lewis Bey, 37, from the 12300 block of S. Normal Avenue in Chicago, was arrested and charged with attempted first-degree murder and two counts of aggravated battery involving the discharge of a firearm, one of which was in connection with shooting at an occupied vehicle. Chicago Police Department News Affairs released the details surrounding the alleged July 2024 shooting incident which left a 51-year-old male injured.
The arrest, carried out by the Fugitive Apprehension Task Force, found Bey in the same neighborhood where the incident occurred months earlier. According to the police report, the shooting took place on July 5, 2024, with the victim inside a vehicle when Bey allegedly opened fire. The report indicated no additional information was available immediately. Bey's detention hearing was scheduled for February 6, 2025.
Bey now faces serious charges for his alleged involvement in last summer's violent ordeal.
The court case will unfold at the detention hearing location at 2600 S. California. No additional information is available at this time.
