
A 23-year-old man, Phillip Akins, has been charged with the murder of a 66-year-old male that occurred in July last year. Akins, from the 3100 block of W. Fillmore in Chicago, Illinois, faces one felony count of first-degree murder, according to the Chicago Police Department.
The arrest took place on February 17, 2025, when Akins was apprehended in the 900 block of S. Kedzie. He was recognized as the suspect responsible for the fatal shooting that occurred on July 27, 2024, situated in the 7100 block of S. Crandon in Chicago's 3rd District. Following his arrest, he was taken into custody and, was charged accordingly.
