Chicago Police and U.S. Marshals arrested 22-year-old Giovanni Gutierrez on counts of multiple vehicle burglaries, according to reports from the Chicago Police Department. The incident, placing Gutierrez at the scene of three vehicle burglaries on February 3, resulted in charges of three felony counts of burglary.
Authorities apprehended Gutierrez on Tuesday, near the 10700 block of S. Pulaski Rd., where one of the burglaries was committed approximately at 4:00 p.m. that day. Caught in the act according to charges, two other burglaries were also pinned on him, occurring back-to-back shortly after 11:00 p.m. in the 3900 block of W. 107th St.
The case quickly proceeded to a detention hearing at the address of 2600 S. California on Thursday. Given the gravity of the charges, the prosecution is likely to present a case emphasizing the repeated and felonious nature of Gutierrez's actions.
