Clark County Superior Court is implementing a significant update to its juror management system, aiming to offer a more streamlined and efficient experience for local citizens called for jury duty. As reported by the county's official website, the outdated software which has been operational since the early 2000s is being replaced to address inefficiencies and to update the means of communication with potential jurors.

With more than 40,000 summons sent out each year for Superior and District Courts in the county, the need for a more sophisticated software was apparent. The new Enterprise Juror Manager promises a simplified user experience. According to the county's announcement, potential jurors should expect to see new postcard style summonses in their mailboxes starting the week of February 24, and once received, they will have the option to respond online through a new juror portal. For those unable to access the portal, assistance will be available via a phone call to the Jury Administration office.

Transitioning from a predominantly mail-based system, the new juror experience mainly pivots to digital communications, with email updates and the option for text message notifications. This shift aims to expedite the process and provide timely updates regarding juror status, with same-day or next business day notifications. Nevertheless, the county maintains that jurors will continue to receive their official summons through the mail, thus initiating the process as it has been done traditionally.

The introduction of the Enterprise Juror Manager comes at a time when mobile internet usage surpasses desktop, with an estimated 56.75% of Americans in 2024 using their mobile devices for online activities. Acknowledging this trend, the new juror portal will be optimized for mobile use, addressing the growing gap between mobile users and desktop users while catering to the contemporary ways Americans manage their business and daily activities.
