A gray Tesla became the center of a road rage incident in Delray Beach, leading to the arrest of Joseph McCreesh, the driver accused of wielding a wooden club against another motorist at a Chevron gas station. According to reports by BocaNewsNow.com, the altercation kicked off when McCreesh allegedly ran a light at the intersection of Polo Trace and Hagan Ranch Road, cutting off the victim who was heading southbound.
The victim recounted to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office that McCreesh grew "highly irate," followed him, and then parked at pump number nine at the gas station located at 7533 Atlantic Avenue, got out of his Tesla with the club in hand, the subsequent assault was all captured on video by a bystander which was later used by the authorities; this was relayed by BocaNewsNow.com. McCreesh, 77, now faces charges including aggravated assault on a person 65 years of age or older, criminal mischief, and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
In an additional report from CBS12, the victim described shielding himself from McCreesh, who apparently was swinging the weapon erratically and grabbed his shirt, the situation escalated until the victim was shoved to the ground after which McCreesh continued advancing and struck the back of the victim's Nissan Rogue, creating two distinctive holes in the rear window.
Ultimately, a photo lineup presented by PSLPD led to McCreesh being identified by the victim, followed by his arrest at his home; deputies later charged him as stated in the report by CBS12. McCreesh has since been released pending a court date and an order of "no contact" has been issued between him and the victim.
