Friday evening in Dracut turned eventful as local police and fire departments responded to a Tesla sedan submerged in the Merrimack River. It all unfolded around 6 p.m. near 189 Merrimack Avenue, according to the Dracut Police Department's report. Authorities arrived at the scene to find the car about 50 feet from the shore, with the driver already safely outside the vehicle.

The diver's team, having been summoned following some uncertainty about whether other passengers remained trapped, confirmed the vehicle was unoccupied. The Lowell Dive Team made this determination after searching the river's murky depths. Through the cold waters, dedicated to ensuring the safety of unseen potential victims, their conclusion brought a solitary sigh of relief; the car was empty. Further details revealed by the report, disclosed no injuries and thus far, no charges have been pressed.
