Early this morning, a vehicle collision involving a Fort Lauderdale police cruiser occurred in Davie, resulting in multiple injuries and a significant emergency response. The crash took place at about 2:15 a.m. at the intersection of SR7 and Orange Drive. WSVN reported that at least three individuals were taken to Memorial Regional Hospital, with one man seen being escorted into the hospital in handcuffs.
The collision caused the temporary closure of the eastbound lanes of State Road 7, from You-Pull to Orange Drive, creating traffic disruptions. Investigators worked on site, and Davie Fire Rescue units were among the first responders. Local 10 reported that crime scene tape surrounded the area, and utility workers addressed a utility box damaged by the crash.
According to Local 10, five individuals were hospitalized due to the incident, with injuries of varying severity. Four were transported to Memorial Regional Hospital, while one was taken to Broward Health Medical Center.
