El Paso County has a new figure stepping into the spotlight of local governance and public interaction, as Sheriff Oscar Ugarte has just appointed Priscilla Contreras as the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office (EPCSO) new Governmental and Public Affairs Director. In a move aimed at bolstering communication and community relations, Contreras is slated to manage media relations, and community outreach, and work closely with government affiliates to bring forth a new era of transparency and trust.
According to El Paso County Sheriff's Office, Sheriff Ugarte expressed his confidence in Contreras's abilities to lead the charge in these pivotal areas. "Priscilla’s extensive experience in public service, and community engagement makes her a valuable asset to our team," he stated. Her track record includes contributions to education, healthcare, public safety, and notably constituent services, reflecting a career built on the cornerstone of public service.
Contreras brings to the table a background rich in city and federal government, which should prove invaluable in addressing the policy areas that matter deeply to the community. The knowledge she has cultivated over her career will be a cornerstone for the progress Sheriff Ugarte envisions. Having earned a bachelor’s degree from The University of Texas at El Paso and a Master of Business Administration from Our Lady of the Lake University, Contreras's educational credentials are well-aligned with her new role’s demands.
