A tragic multi-vehicle collision occurred early this morning on Highway 385 in Collierville, resulting in one fatality and two critical injuries. According to the Action News 5 report, the Collierville Police Department responded to the scene near South Houston Levee Road. The crash involved four cars and led to all eastbound lanes being blocked, with traffic being diverted from the interstate.

The Collierville Police Department reported that one individual was pronounced dead at the crash site. In the aftermath, two other victims were quickly taken to Regional One Hospital, where they remain in critical condition. The early morning crash temporarily forced closure of exits along the highway, as stated by WREG, with Exit 10 and Exit 12 being shut down to traffic.

Fire crews and emergency personnel were dispatched to the scene, as the incident unfolded on the eastbound strip between Houston Levee Road and Byhalia Road. FOX13 Memphis relayed a statement from the authorities requesting that drivers use alternate routes and "remember to yield to all law enforcement and emergency vehicles."

An investigation is currently underway to determine the cause of the accident, which occurred just after 5:30 a.m. At this time, it remains unclear when Highway 385 will be reopened to traffic.
