
A man was fatally shot in Northwest Miami-Dade, with the incident prompting a response from local authorities yesterday. Both WSVN and Local 10 report that the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office deputies were dispatched to the scene after receiving a ShotSpotter alert.
The shooting occurred around the vicinity of Northwest 22nd Avenue, and 75th Street, details confirm are scant as the authorities have yet to release information on a suspect or motive. The ShotSpotter technology, a tool used to detect gunshots, was instrumental in alerting deputies to the scene at approximately 4:09 p.m., as WSVN reported. The Miami-Dade Fire Rescue soon after transported the victim to Ryder Trauma Center where he was pronounced dead.
Despite the fatal outcome, officials are still in the process of identifying the victim and have not provided any further details about the individual's identity.
As of now, deputies said, they had "no information about a suspect or motive," according to Local 10. It is not yet clear if there were any witnesses or security footage that could provide insight into this fatal shooting. The sheriff's office has not released any additional information to the public at this time.
