The City of Fort Lauderdale is partnering with David Mancini & Sons, Inc. to upgrade the stormwater system in the Chula Vista neighborhood. The project, starting on Monday, will include installing a new 24-inch stormwater pipe, new catch basins, a tidal valve, and reconstructing the roads. The upgrades aim to improve the area’s resilience to storms.

According to the City of Fort Lauderdale, construction will take place on weekdays from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., with an expected completion by late April. The schedule may change due to weather or unforeseen events. During this time, SW 29th Terrace, between SW 16th Street and SW 17th Street, will be limited to local traffic. Crews will work to minimize disruptions and maintain parking access.

Traffic control officials will be on-site to direct traffic and help residents. The construction team will notify neighbors in advance of work that could impact parking. Motorists are encouraged to follow posted signs and drive cautiously in the area.
