Travelers in the Hartford area now have a new option to reach Miami with Frontier Airlines' nonstop service between Bradley International Airport and Miami International Airport. The service operates twice a week, offering a more direct and budget-friendly way to travel between the northeast and southeast.
According to the Frontier's company news, this new route brings the total number of nonstop destinations from Bradley International Airport to five. "For both Hartford-area consumers looking for adventures in the Sunshine State, and for Floridians excited to explore New England, this new service will be a game changer in both convenience and affordability," said Josh Flyr, Frontier's vice president of network and operations design.
As per NBC Connecticut, promotional fares start at $49, but bookings must be made by April 21, with some blackout dates, including March 7-9, 14-16, 21-23, and 28-30.
Frontier Airlines is also enhancing its service with clear upfront pricing to avoid unexpected costs. The airline no longer charges fees for changing or canceling flights if done seven days or more before departure. This new approach aims to improve the travel experience, according to Frontier’s company news.
In addition, Frontier offers an UpFront Plus seating option with extra legroom, guaranteed empty middle seats, and the choice of a window or aisle seat. Frontier Miles members can also access benefits such as complimentary seat upgrades, unlimited companion travel, and the ability to redeem miles for various rewards, catering to family travelers.
Mike Shea, Executive Director of the Connecticut Airport Authority, praised the launch, noting that it adds to Bradley International Airport's portfolio of low-cost flights. This expansion supports the regional economy, with the airport's operations contributing nearly $3.6 billion.
