"This family-friendly event gets bigger and better every year," said IDOA Director Jerry Costello II, eager to once again provide a platform for both renowned and novel Illinois-based food companies. From The Homestead Bakery to burgeoning businesses like Siddity Pig Pork Snacks, this year's expo promises to not only satisfy long-standing community favorites but also introduce new delights to enthusiastic consumers. "It's a convenient way to shop local and discover new Illinois products," Costello added, according to a press release issued by the state's Department of Agriculture.
Event attendees can anticipate sampling and purchasing a variety of goods, including Rollings Lawns Farm's dairy products, decadent treats from ReMARKable Caramels, and Phoenix Bean's innovative tofu creations. But the expo isn't just about food; it's an interactive experience with cooking demonstrations and the chance to unwind in the Illinois Wine Garden, where 14 local wineries will be pouring their best vintages.
"We're also excited to feature Copi cooking demonstrations in conjunction with the Illinois Department of Natural Resources," noted Jackie Sambursky, IDOA Bureau Chief of Marketing, spotlighting a collaborative effort to both educate and entertain expo visitors.
