The St. Bernard Sheriff's Office has confirmed that its deputies are working alongside the New Orleans Police Department, Louisiana State Police, and other law enforcement agencies. This collaboration is part of their ongoing effort to ensure safety during the Mardi Gras celebrations in New Orleans, according to the St. Bernard Sheriff’s Office.
Expressing the department's commitment, Sheriff James Pohlmann underscored the need for solid partnerships across local, state, and federal agencies, a strategy they believe is critical in safeguarding the public during such high-profile events, in a statement the St. Bernard Sheriff’s Office shared, saying the sheriff "supports strong partnerships between local, state and federal agencies in an effort to make Carnival safer for everyone."
The St. Bernard Sheriff’s Office is reminding people to stay aware of their surroundings and stay safe while enjoying the Mardi Gras parade. With so many people in one place, it's important to remember the balance between having fun and staying safe. They also wish everyone a "Happy Mardi Gras!"
