The City of Boca Raton has announced the promotion of Jim Zervis to Deputy City Manager/Chief Financial Officer, effective on Monday. Zervis, who is currently the city’s Chief Financial Officer, will now oversee departments such as Public Works, Engineering, and Information Technology. He will also play a key role in the government campus redevelopment initiative. Zervis brings over 24 years of experience in municipal leadership, financial management, and executive oversight, as mentioned in the City of Boca Raton official announcement.
This promotion comes after Boca Raton's recent financial achievements. The city has earned the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) for over 44 years. Boca Raton’s Office of Management & Budget has also received the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for 42 consecutive years, praised for its performance measures and strategic goals. Additionally, the city was recognized with the Award of Excellence in Procurement from the Florida Association of Public Procurement Officials.
In response to his promotion, Zervis stated in the announcement, "I am honored to take on the role of Deputy City Manager while continuing to oversee the City’s financial operations. Boca Raton has a long-standing tradition of financial excellence, and I look forward to expanding my responsibilities to support the City's strategic initiatives, infrastructure improvements, and continued fiscal stewardship."
