The island of Kaua‘i has seen a series of arrests tied to a counterfeit jewelry scam, expanding the case that started with a Walmart parking lot incident. The Kaua‘i Police Department, in a collaborative push with the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney, has issued two Felony Information Warrants for Fraud following the initial incident involving Remus Miclescu last Saturday, according to the County of Kaua'i press release.

To date, six individuals have been apprehended the most recent arrests took place last Thursday, when Kaua‘i Police Department officers brought in several Romanian nationals across different states, namely Inilian Constantin, Sofian Miclescu, Constantin Miclescu, and the previously encountered Remus Miclescu, for fraud, "These groups often operate as organized crime, targeting our kupuna," Deputy Chief Mark Ozaki reported in a statement that reflects the resolve to protect the community, as reported by the County of Kaua'i.
