Gencom, the Miami-based investment firm overseeing the property, announced a $100 million renovation. The 13-story beachfront hotel includes 291 hotel rooms, 188 condominium units, dining options, leisure facilities, and event spaces. Despite the renovation investment, the staff will face temporary unemployment.
A WARN notice provides details on the layoffs. According to The Layoff Tracker's X post, starting May 1, affected employees will be laid off, with the renovation expected to last at least six months.
