An afternoon search for a parking space turned violent for an elderly couple in Downtown Stuart, Florida, on January 31.
CBS12 reported that the couple, after seeing a man enter his truck in the disputed spot, waited and then approached to ask if he would be leaving. The situation escalated when 47-year-old Mark Swick allegedly responded aggressively, first striking the 71-year-old woman and then her 74-year-old husband when he intervened.
Initially, there were few leads, as the victims had limited information about the suspect. However, the Stuart Police Department later identified and arrested Swick. He faces two counts of felony battery on persons over the age of 65. According to Miami Herald, Swick was arrested in Port St. Lucie, about 185 miles from his home in Land O' Lakes.
